Minister of Health Inaugurates Jababeka Medical City in Jababeka City

Thepresidentpost.id - CIKARANG – Jababeka City in Cikarang is the most complete modern independent city covering an area of 5,600 Ha with a population of around 1.2 million people. Jababeka City is PT Jababeka Tbk’s first independent city project that has developed from a green land into a community, consisting of industrial estates – for light-medium industry, beautiful residential and commercial areas with various leading facilities. Strategically located along the Bekasi – Cikampek corridor, Jababeka City can be accessed by toll road and train with a travel time of 45 minutes from Jakarta’s business center.

PT Jababeka Tbk also continues to strive to develop the Jababeka City area. The latest development, Jababeka has inaugurated Jababeka Medical City, which was inaugurated by Budi Gunadi Sadikin Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The inauguration ceremony was marked by the signing of an inscription, at the Jababeka Medical City Building, Kota Jababeka, Wednesday (1/3/2023)

Jababeka Medical City is a health industry area that will be developed by Jababeka with WHO standard infrastructure to accommodate foreign tourists for treatment. Jababeka Medical City is located on an area of 72 hectares in the Jababeka Cikarang masterplan covering an area of 5,600 Ha. After the groundbreaking on October 29, 2008, Jababeka Medical City is expected to, in the future, become a center of excellence in the field of medical and integrated health services in Indonesia.

Until now, it is recorded that from 2008 to 2023, in the Jababeka area there have been 20 hospitals (4,000+ beds) serving more than 2,000 multinational companies from 34 countries in the Jababeka Industrial Estate with around one million workers. In addition, there have been dozens of pharmaceutical factories in the Jababeka Industrial Estate, including Dexa Medica Group, Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals, Genero Pharmaceuticals, Ethica Industri Farmasi (Ethica Industri Farmasi ), Combiphar Donga, Anugrah Pharmindo Lestari, Intan Jaya Medika Solusi. There are five 5-star class hotels in the Jababeka Industrial Estate as a place to stay, such as Holiday Inn Hotel, Batiqa Hotel, Antero Jababeka Hotel, Grand Zuri Jababeka, Ibis Styles Cikarang, and The Celecton Hotel. Then, in Kota Jababeka, there are quality schools in the Jababeka Area, namely Al-Azhar, St.Leo, BPK Penabur, SD-SMP-SMA President, and President University, and senior living.

According to Setyono Djuandi Darmono as founder and chairman of PT Jababeka Tbk, the ecosystem in Jababeka City is complete which can help support Jababeka Medical City.

“Today’s inauguration is just the first step. We start from the first step. Of course, there will be further steps after this,” Setyono Djuandi Darmono said in his speech.

Darmono – as he is usually called – added that the first step of Jababeka Medical City could be to start as a place of care for local and foreign people, not treatment. Because the Jababeka Area, actually, has been able to bring tourists with its complete ecosystem. For example, like how to run a healthy lifestyle, check-ups are always routine, run a healthy diet, get advice from a doctor.

“So, here can be a model of how to live a healthy life without getting sick. If we are healthy, and do not get sick, health costs will be cheaper and everything will be better, “said the man who is the founder of President University.

Meanwhile, Budi Gunadi Sadikin as Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, expressed his appreciation to Jababeka for inaugurating Jababeka Medical City in order to help the presence of health services in the community more optimally. This is because the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia needs cross-sector cooperation, including the private sector, in providing optimal health services.

“One of these medical cities can be from the medical equipment, it can be from the medical education, it can also be the medical services. And medical education, I see that there are already state universities, I said to Mr. Darmono, ‘the need for doctors and specialists is very high’. I am very supportive that medical professional graduates from higher education in Jababeka can (later) flow to maintain good quality. Because, somehow, we need medical professionals with good quality, “explained Budi Gunadi Sadikin.

With the inauguration of Jababeka Medical City, Budi Gunadi Sadikin also hopes that Jababeka medical city can develop and its existence has a good impact on the wider community.

The inauguration of Jababeka Medical City was followed by a Face-to-Face Meeting session of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Led by S.D Darmono, founder and chairman of PT Jababeka Tbk directly, this session discussed “Jababeka Medical City and efforts to improve the quality of treatment in Indonesia”. The meeting session of the Minister of Health was interesting.

The event was attended by guests from various backgrounds. Also present were Professor Jony Haryanto, Expert Staff of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research & Technology, Innovation, Siti Fadilah Supari, Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2004 — 2009, Bambang Sudibyo Minister of National Education for the period 2004 — 2009, leaders from the West Java Provincial Government, leaders from Bekasi Regency, leaders of industrial company tenants, leaders of national companies, heads of Regional and private General Hospitals, IDI Bekasi, Association of medical and medical equipment, university leaders including, President University, Faculty of Medicine, Padjadjaran University, Directors of PT Jababeka Tbk, Indonesian public and health personnel, and media (print, electronic, digital).
