Andalas University, Osaka University Medical Schools Sign Academic Exchange Agreement
Thepresidentpost.id - Osaka, Japan - In an effort to build cooperation and collaboration in the academic field, the Faculty of Medicine of Andalas University (FK UNAND) has signed an Agreement on Academic Exchange with the School of Medicine Osaka University at Osaka University Suita Campus (24/10).
The agreement was signed by the Dean of UNAND Faculty of Medicine , Prof. Dr. dr. Afriwardi, SH, Sp.KO., MA., and Dean of Division of Health Science, School of Medicine Osaka University, Dr. Kei Kamide, witnessed by the Coordinator of the Information and Socio-Cultural Section of the Indonesian Consulate General in Osaka, Anak Agung Ngurah Andy Laksmana.
"Congratulations on the agreement on academic exchange cooperation between the two institutions which is one of the real implementations of the close relations between Indonesia and Japan which has entered the age of 65 years and a strategic comprehensive partnership with various concrete collaborations that are mutually beneficial between the two countries", said Mr. Andy Laksmana representing the Indonesian Consulate General in Osaka.
"We are very enthusiastic and welcome the cooperation agreement with Andalas University. This collaboration is expected to contribute in offering answers to the challenges in the health sector faced by Japan and Indonesia," said Prof. Mai Kabayama, Director of International Exchange Center Osaka University.
In line with Prof. Mai Kabayama, Dr. Kei Kamide also expressed hope that the signing of the cooperation with Andalas University could facilitate academic exchanges, research cooperation, and information sharing in the fields of medicine, midwifery, and other fields of interest of both institutions. The Dean of UNAND Faculty of Medicine hopes that the agreement can be a catalyst for research collaboration and wider access for the exchange of students, educators, and researchers of Faculty of Medicine UNAND with the School of Medicine Osaka University.
This agreement includes collaboration of academic activities, such as lectures, research; exchange of information and learning materials in the fields of medicine, midwifery, and women's, mother, and child health as well as other fields that are the focus of both institutions; and student and researcher exchanges between the two universities.
Andalas University is the second Indonesian university/educational institution to collaborate with Osaka University's School of Medicine in 2023. In March 2023, the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Jakarta III has held a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) implementation ceremony with the School of Medicine Osaka University.
The Indonesian Consulate General in Osaka is committed to supporting the smooth implementation of the agreement and developing cooperation between Indonesia and Japan in various fields.
