Transcript Press Briefing Foreign Minister of the Republic of Indonesia in Beijing, 20 November 2023

Thepresidentpost.id - Indonesia strongly condemns Israel's attack on the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza; that resulted in the death of numerous civilians.

This attack is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

All countries especially those that have close ties with Israel, must use all of their influence and abilities to urge Israel to end its atrocities.

Until now, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains unable to be in contact with three (3) Indonesian nationals who are volunteers at the Indonesian Hospital.

I, myself, have contacted UNRWA in Gaza to seek information on the situation of the Indonesian Hospital and I received the response that UNRWA themselves are unable to contact anyone at the Indonesian Hospital at this moment.

I have attempted to contact the WHO and the International Red Cross but have yet to receive a response.

I will continue to contact relevant parties to receive information on the Indonesian Hospital, as well as the safety of the aforementioned three Indonesian nationals.

Coordination with MerC Jakarta also continues to be undertaken. Let us pray for their safety and for Allah SWT's protection.

At the moment, I am in Beijing, China, together with the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Palestine, and the Secretary General of the OIC to garner support, especially from the 5 Permanent Member countries of the UN Security Council to push for an immediate ceasefire and the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian assistance.

The visit of several OIC Foreign Ministers is a follow-up of Paragraph 11 of the Resolution of the OIC-Arab League Extraordinary Summit that was held in Riyadh on 11 November 2023.

This month, China holds the UN Security Council Presidency. OIC Foreign Ministers hope that China can support the efforts of the OIC Foreign Ministers.

According to plans, there will be a foreign ministers meeting at the UN Security Council to once again discuss the Gaza issue.

Tomorrow, OIC Foreign Ministers will continue to garner support in Moscow.
