Putin congratulates Prabowo on winning 2024 presidential election

Thepresidentpost.id - Russian President Vlamidir Putin has congratulated Prabowo Subianto on his victory in the 2024 presidential election.

"Dear Mr. Prabowo Subianto, please accept my sincere congratulations on your convincing victory in the presidential election," Putin said, as reported by the Russian government, Friday (16/2/2024).

In his statement, Putin also said that Russia and Indonesia have been two friendly countries that respect each other and have good cooperation in various fields.

"Indonesia-Russia relations are based on a tradition of kind friendship and mutual respect and have successfully developed in various fields," he said.

On that occasion, he also expressed hope that cooperation between Indonesia and Russia could continue to be strengthened.

"I count on constructive dialog with you and fruitful cooperation on topical issues on the bilateral and international agenda," Putin said.

As is known, presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo-Gibran won hands down from candidate 01 Anies-Muhaimin and candidate 3 Ganjar-Mahfud from the results of the quick count version of the vote count and the KPU's real count.

Previously, a number of other heads of state had also congratulated Prabowo, including Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong, Australian PM Anthony Albanese, and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
